A story about Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama
Most. Beautiful. Man. Ever.
East Coast Blues and Roots festival 2006. Michael stood outside in the rain for four hours to meet the people who had queued to see him. He was only supposed to be there for an hour, but he made sure he talked to everyone. Beautiful man.
In April 2006 my girlfriend and I attended the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival (http://bluesfest.com.au) in Byron Bay, Australia. Martha was playing on the first and third days of the five-day festival. My girlfriend Natalie is a huge fan and wanted to meet Martha, so on the first day we purchased a tshirt and stood in line to meet her and have it signed. She was sweet and funny, and talked for ages before saying goodbye. On the third day, Nat decided to get a tshirt for her sister, who is also a huge fan, so we got in line again. When got to the front of the line, Martha remembered both our names and what we’d been chatting about, and gave us both huge hugs. So sweet. It’s nice to see people make an effort to remember their fans, and not take them for granted. Hell, it’s impressive that she remembered, given that she would have met more than 1000 people over the course of the festival.
